FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

• Do I need a referral?

  Yes, preferably. Please ask your physician to clearly indicate on the referral: the reason for consultation + any required exam.

• How soon can I get an appointment?

  Appointments are available within the week.

• Is Spera Medical a walk-in clinic?

  No. All appointments have to be taken over the phone beforehand including emergencies.

• Are you a private clinic?

  We are a semi-private clinic, meaning the consultation and several tests are covered by the RAMQ. Please contact us to inquire further.

• Will my insurance cover the fees?

  It is the patient’s responsibility to contact their insurance company beforehand to verify their coverage.

  You will be given a bill at the end of your appointment that you can then submit to your insurance company.

• What should I bring to my 1st appointment?

  Your medical health insurance card, the doctor’s referral and your medication list.

• Do I need to prepare in advance for my appointment?

  The only test requiring preparation is the Stress Test/Stress Echo:

  • Bring comfortable clothing and shoes,
  • A light meal 2-3 hours before
  • No caffeine
  • No smoking
  • No cream or soap on the upper body.

• Will the results be sent to my doctor?

  Yes, we will send them to the referring doctor within the week.

• What types of payment do you accept?

  Interac, Visa, Mastercard and Cash.

• Is there parking?

  Yes, parking available on both sides of the building.
